RJT Expand Union | BS4825
RJT (also known as Ring Joint Type) is a British Standard union, often used across a wide range of hygienic processing industries, including Food & Dairy, Beverages, AI Cooling, Direct Air Capture, Brewing and Cosmetics.
RJT Expand Unions are used to create hygienic, removable pipe connections where welding is not practical. The expanding male and liner are swaged onto the tube, providing a secure, hygienic joint that still uses the standard RJT nut and seal.
RJT unions are comprised of 4 parts:
All wetted parts are grade 316 stainless steel, whilst the nut is 304.
RJT is a very forgiving union and is easy to install. It is well suited to applications that require regular dismantling.
We are able to offer RJT connections to any of our standard Valves, Strainers or plain end fittings on request.

- Nitrile Joint Ring supplied as standard.
- Variations from stock in NBR, EPDM, Viton, Silicone, PTFE and Metal Detectable.
- Manufactured to BS4825 for hygienic applications.
- All seals are certified to EU1935:2004 regulations or FDA.
