When an engineering company approached us to support their client’s chocolate factory upgrade, we knew jacketed pipework would be the perfect solution. This meant that the client could upgrade their production line without compromising product temperature.

What is jacketed pipework?

Jacketed pipework is essential in chocolate processing, as chocolate is sensitive to temperature changes. If it cools too quickly, it can solidify or lose its texture. Using jacketed valves and pipework allows hot water or steam to circulate around the pipes. This keeps the product at a consistent temperature throughout the system.

How we supplied our customer.

To support this project, we supplied a range of 1”, 2”, and 3” CSE Butterfly Valves. All valves were fully automated and fitted with Viton body seals. Viton is ideal for these applications, as the material has excellent resistance to high temperatures and cleaning chemicals. The temperature range of Viton is around -20°C to 200°C.

Additionally, we supplied CSE Butterfly Valve heating jackets for each valve, ensuring that the entire pipeline maintained the required temperature.

Our customer quickly sourced all the required valves and fittings at a competitive price, delivering a high-quality installation that impressed their client.
